This is freakin' amazing to me.  I'm getting heavy into Pinballs again and I decided I'm going to fix the F-14 Tomcat I bought almost 2 years ago.  When I went to start working under the playfield I realized it was going to be a horrible experience.  Having recently watched This Old Pinball (volume 7) I knew there was something created to hold your Pinball Playfield that would allow you full access to the top and bottom of it with ease.  Upon further research it seemed that:

1.  These things are NOT cheap.  $250 from A Bit Of Leisure
2.  They can be built as proven by someone who helped me VERY much in fixing my Black Knight 2000 score display: Ed Cheung

Using Ed Cheung's basic starting point, I ran to Lowe's this afternoon and spent about $80 on wood and plumbing stuff and screws and bolts and nuts.

I got home and didn't really have any plans but I had an idea in my head that I thought MIGHT work.

Every table in my house ends up being a drop off spot for crap.  Everything gets dumped anywhere it can.  If I tried attaching something like this to a table in the house, that table would be inaccessible for months.  Instead I chose to make a virtually stand alone rotisserie where I could pull a chair up to it to work.

Here's what happened when I started cutting:

I made some initial cuts trying to get an "A" shape that would stand up.

Added a bottom to make it more sturdy and stable.

The 2 Flanges needed to line up ..and they do.

They will obviously be seperated

Using the Pipe Union and the Falanges and 2 "nipples" I started to build the playfiled "holders".

I attached a flat piece of very sturdy metal to the bottom of my triangles so it could be carriage bolted to a 2x6 that would run the lengh of the rotisserie.

With that done, I was ready to put a playfield in the gadget. Low and behold it WORKED!

I used some C Clamps to secure the playfield to the "holder" so it wouldn't fall when flipped.

Ta Da!
